About Yash

I grew up in a bilingual home learning Venezuelan Spanish alongside English from both of my parents. I spent all my summers until I was about 11 or 12 in South America. I attended high school in Texas so naturally as you can imagine Spanish proved very useful. I also successfully took the AP Spanish 4 and Spanish 5 tests allowing me to complete college language requirements before ever attending the University of Texas at Austin where I even took a semester of Italian. Molto buono! After graduating, I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where I initially wanted to be an airborne crypto linguist. Ultimately, I would miss the minimum requirement to become one but instead became a public affairs specialist. I wrote articles and conducted interviews reaching a worldwide audience. While I served, I did manage to take the Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB) and Defense Language Proficiency Tests (DLPT) which I later managed to convert into more than 13 semester credit hours of Spanish. Today, I am a Spanish teacher in high school in Texas preparing to start my 7th year in education and bringing Spanish 5 AP to our high school campus. I continue to love the language and language learning.
