Methodology
I believe that teaching has to cover all essential aspects of the game (Openings - Middlegames - Endgames - Tactics – Strategy ... etc.) while at the same time being tailored to fit the style, strengths, potential and even personality of each trainee. I tend to study the player before teaching him, to assure that he will definitely reach his maximum. I use latest technologies in my courses, including top chess software and the breakthrough technology of Neural Networks and NNUE engines.
Background
My name is Joy, a dentist, chess author, international chess player and instructor, certified by World Chess Federation "FIDE". I have a vast experience of 36 years playing chess since childhood, and 27 years teaching it. Having passed this long road helps me dealing with players of all ages, levels, and potentials.
Rates
Details
1- $ 35 for 60-minute first "demo" lesson (Minimum duration of the demo lesson).
2- $ 40/hour for private lesson.
3- Courses for one person: $ 200 / 5 lessons, $ 375 / 10 Lessons, $ 700 / 20 Lessons.
4- Courses for two persons: $ 350 / 5 lessons, $ 650 / 10 Lessons, $ 1200 / 20 Lessons.
5- Group rates will be determined upon contact.

Joy's Resume
1- Online chess instructor and consultant since June 2020, at two of Canada's most reputable learning institutes.
2- Online personal trainer for multiple players in Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, and Nova Scotia since my arrival in Canada in mid-2019.
3- Author of several chess articles, some of which were recently published in the official magazine of the Quebec Chess Federation.
4- Shared 3rd place in the World Amateur Chess Championship - Romania 2013 (I was advised to participate in the tournament by Super GM Peter Leko, based on his belief that I was a serious contender for the title).
5- Sole 2nd place in the Blitz section of the World Amateur Chess Championship - Romania 2013.
6- Shared 2nd place in UAE Grand Prix 2011 behind IM Fouad Al Taher but ahead of GM Sergey Kayumov among others. I was among only 12 finalists who qualified out of hundreds of participants after 9 months of preliminary stages.
7- 4th place in Ramadan Blitz Tournament 2010 Ahead of 4 GMs, 5 IMs, 2 FMs, 1 WFM and many international rated players.
8- Trainer of U14-U12-U10-U8 players in Abu Dhabi Chess Club 2010-2011. My players made considerable progress within the first 4 months.
9- The reigning Correspondence Chess champion of my country of origin.
10- U 20 Champion of my country of origin 1994.
11- U 14 Champion of my country of origin 1989.
12- In 2012 I participated in the preparation of the interface of the "Houdini for android" project. Unfortunately, the project was subsequently stopped by the programmer due to copyright issues.

I adore Pablo Picasso's famous saying “Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist!”, but with Keith, the brilliant artist, the opposite is true! Imagine my absolute sheer joy watching him analyzing and obtaining the rules of complex endings using his creative imagination! Honestly, even writing about this is a reason to smile, let alone watching it!
