Passionate and creative teacher and experienced research chemist, gives science/chemistry and physics classes for grade 5 to 8 students and for high school students in Ottawa.

Methodology

My teaching methods are based on STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) and UDL (Universal Design for Learning).

I am passionate about the benefits of science-art partnership in the education of children, which promotes learner’s creativity and empowers them to understand the world around them.

I approach subjects with flexibility and I adjust my teaching methods to every student’s strength and needs.

My classes are designed for learner from grade 5 to 9.

Background

I am formally trained in chemistry and physics with a Bachelor of Science Degree: Chemistry and Physics (Majored in Physical Chemistry), with over 15 years professional experience in chemical laboratory in diversified areas and roles.

My work experience covers research as a research chemist, arts as an art conservation, and teaching as a part-time professor at Algonquin College and school/after school science-activity kits creator with Decoscience. I am also a photographer passionate about macro-photography.

I thrive exploring the interplay between art and science, where art allows me to express myself and to question the perception of the world, and science gives me the tools/knowledge to explore.

To quote Mae Jemison, “Science provides an understanding of a universal experience. Arts provide a universal understanding of a personal experience.”
