About Teddy
I have spent many months over the last 5 years in France and Spain, staying with native families, studios, farms, collectives - acquiring language skills and cultural knowledge. I tutor adults, children and primary/secondary students from scratch or to their needs/syllabus. My main experience is in teaching adults over the past two years, which requires a lot of creativity and tenacity to break through their assumptions. I have also done conversation lessons with young people, taught in Forest Schools, and been language assistant with an arts-based Children in Need project.
I have experience teaching dyslexic students, and experience with ADHD, ALDD and neuro-atypical students.
I've got a good knowledge of Francophone and Hispanic culture and current affairs, and a recent and thorough understanding of exam structure, revision and method.

The classroom can be limiting as a space to learn a language. For this reason I offer 1-1, personalised lessons with real-world examples from Francophone countries, and original French resources, which students and I can talk through and do together, in person or online.
People seem to learn best when they recognise patterns, understand context, and feel supported in and excited about applying their knowledge. This is what I try to cultivate with my students.
