I understand the necessity of different types of learning and aim to make tutorial sessions as tailored to an individual as possible. I'm also there to teach as a friend so when exam time comes around and stress is overbearing then I can offer support. Maths tends to be a subject which people genuinely believe they cannot accomplish, however, usually it's a matter of solving the way in which a person thinks about it and their personal affinity rather than continuation of the same tedious questions and anxiety.
I base my lessons around the national curriculum for Standard Grade and Highers, handouts are given so that we can use these in the next session and future referral - this helps with understanding areas of improvement and consolidation, not to mention when mastered we can look back on the previous mistakes to correct them. Real life situations will also be incorporated into my teaching, this helps understanding of why we do maths in the first place and where it can be applied in your life. I will assess how you are best learning, whether this be through a textbook/research, drawing (geometry), videos, communication, or using tangible objects.
I will target areas of concern by looking through previous work and setting past paper question when I feel you are ready to tackle them. Over tutorial sessions I will give all the information in which to answer these questions in hopes that they can have a decent stab at the problems rather than just flustering over them.
I recently graduated from the University of Glasgow with a First Honours degree in mathematics. After completing a dissertation on mathematical modelling of wound healing and producing a model for myocardium infarction healing my future plans include a masters which continues this work.
Mathematics is an ever-challenging subject but that's exactly what makes it so fantastic. Contrary to popular belief, it's also a very communicative subject, the only way we prosper and gather knowledge is through the exchange of theories, proofs and approaches. Why not ask for help when it's needed. Throughout university I aided in the mathematics department help rooms for 1st and 2nd years, furthermore I have been giving private lessons for the past year for Standard Grade and Highers.

Written projects on Latex and simulations on Mathematica. Developed a minor report on logistics curves and data fitting, a major report on the enumerative and geometric properties involved in the card game SET, and a group presentation based around the major report.
4th Year Dissertation Project:
Written projects on Latex and simulations on Matlab. Mathematical Models in Wound Healing. It explores previously developed models in fungal hyphae growth and it’s relation to capillary growth in tissue, tumour induced tissue angiogenesis and hyperbaric oxygen therapy effects. Furthermore, I developed a model for left ventricle remodelling after myocardium infarction.
