In my opinion, the most important and the first thing to is understanding the material. I like to go over what was covered in class, making sure that the student has a good idea about it. The next step is being able to apply what you learned. This can be done by doing many different examples.
I am a fourth-year physics and astronomy student. I can teach math(including calculus) and science(especially physics). I know the high school math and science curriculum very well so I believe that I can be really helpful to high school students.
