About the lesson
I firmly believe that every student can understand any subject if it is explained in the right way.
So if the first way in which I explain something does not click, I try other ways such as rewording, visualization, illustrative examples or even metaphorical thinking. I believe in getting to know a student and using that information to make a subject interesting or relevant to them.
I will work with you to find your problem areas, go back to basics before addressing these problems if I suspect a foundational problem and then work up to a point where you can do example problems and self-diagnose any problems you have along the way.
My goal is to not only help you address these problems, but teach you the skills needed to learn new skills in the future and connect new subjects to the knowledge you already have.
I have tutored people with many different levels of knowledge, from middle school to final year undergraduates, so feel free to contact me wherever you are in your education.
- All Levels
I am a graduate student in Space and atmospheric physics at the university of New Brunswick in Canada.
I did my undergraduate and honours degree in my home country of South Africa, where I graduated with distinction. Throughout my academic career,I have focused not only on learning the field and research, but also on the communication skills needed to explain the work we do to a lay person. I have also tutored throughout my studies, and always made note of the teaching methods of those around me and the strengths and weaknesses of each one.
In my free time I love reading, knitting, tabletop games and exploring the world around me.
