About Richard
I have tutored not only all math from algebra to Calc II, but also from beginner to AP Physics I and from beginner to AP Chemistry. In my time at Princeton, I led study groups and held 1 on 1 tutoring sessions in addition to playing a Division 1 sport. I truly enjoy helping my students succeed, and I would love the opportunity to help whoever I can.

I have the ability to find the unique way that each student learns best, and I believe in a “first principles” approach to teaching. This means that when teaching a new idea or topic, we first start with the fundamental base knowledge and use other facts we know to create new ideas that are proved by the things we already know to be true. For example, rather than simply telling a student to memorize a formula, I teach how to derive the formula using facts and rules the student already knows. This is the biggest difference between memorizing and learning.
