Bonjour / Hello
My name is Sonsie. I live in Côtes des Neiges and I completed my yoga teacher training in India, at the foothills of the Himalayas.
I teach Hatha (traditional and flow) and Vinyasa. Upon request, I can also teach a half hour of guided meditation.
During each lesson I prioritise alignment and prevention of injury.
An example lesson:
I begin each class with exercises to centre yourself and allow you arrive on your mat in the present moment (short meditation or breath awareness).
After a gentle warm up, we will practice several sun saluations. Then, we will work on certain postures (asanas) and sequences adapted to you and your physical, emotional or mental needs.
Your lesson will be personalised to your needs (reduce stress levels, promote correct posture ...) and your desires (hip openers, hamstring strenghtening and lengthening ...).
It would be my pleasure to help you begin, or continue to improve, your yoga practice.
Sonsie is a fantastic Yoga teacher! She puts a lot of thought into her lessons, and makes them just challenging enough that you can clear your mind - but not so challenging that you feel like giving up.
She has a great way of encouraging you, adjusting your position and ensuring that you are in the right positions. She is patient, and knowledgeable and brings more than just fitness into the session. I learnt new types of breathing exercises for different meditations, heard about some different philosophies and just enjoyed myself so much.
I couldn't recommend Sonsie enough, and brought friends to her classes, told others about how great she was and I desperately wish she would come back to Glasgow so that I could go to her classes again!! Maybe I will just have to follow her around the world?!

I have been practising yoga for 9 years. Yoga was my refuge during my law studies and prior legal career. It soon became a priority in my life. After travelling and experimenting with different yoga styles my travels brought me to India, the country of origin of yoga.
I was trained by Indian yogis completing my teacher training with Trimurti Yoga (RYS Yoga Alliance) in the Himalayan mountain province of Dharamsala.
Since my teacher training I pursue my passion for teaching yoga full time. I look forward to guiding you in your discovery of the sacred art of yoga.
