About the lesson
According to the most recent literature in linguistics we are in the post-method era. This doesn’t mean teaching without a plan but applying strategies from different methodologies according to students’ specific goals and needs. It has been proved that sticking to a single method is not beneficial for all students. However, my main teaching experience is with the Communicative Approach and with Task Based Learning that give priority to verbal skills.
There are some strategies I apply in my lessons such as the student-centered approach. This means that the lessons will focus on you and that you will dictate the flow and the content of the class after a careful evaluation. You will be the one speaking and leading while I will guide you and make the necessary corrections to help you improve.
The use of technology is another strategy I apply. The use of cell phones, i-pads, computers etc. You will be watching videos, listening to recordings as well as recording your own voice, listening to it and trying to auto-correct yourself.
Many other strategies will be explored according to your learning goals, suggestions and creativity!
