My classes are designed to encourage imagination, intuition and the development of technical skills. I am passionate about contemporary art and work with students to explore ideas and making strategies that are thoughtful and experimental. I am very happy to work with beginners who are trying painting and/or sculpture for the first time. Students will learn about the materials needed for their projects, along with colour theory, composition and installation.
I am a professional artist with experience teaching students of all ages. I have experience teaching at the University level and can support students in developing their portfolio for future studies. I have exhibited in prestigious galleries and artist run centres across Canada and I am knowledgable of contemporary art practices. I can further guide students to relevant art historical references in the process of making their own work.
