I teach virtual lessons for people all across Canada as well as in-person lessons from my own home for people in Saskatoon. My approach is to first access my student’s knowledge with both music skills and piano skills. Afterwards, I begin with teaching basic music knowledge such as how to read sheet music and basic music notations (if the student asks not to learn about basic sheet music knowledge and how to read sheet music, we can skip this and move directly onto piano knowledge). I then move onto basic piano knowledge (how to identify notes on the keyboard, hand positioning...). I am classically educated which means that if asked, I can classically train in piano lessons. Most commonly, I teach a very relaxed-style lesson so that people feel comfortable while learning.
I have played piano for 12 years, both in school and professionally. I have performed all across Canada and in New York City, with orchestras and smaller ensembles as well as solo in music competitions and as a choral accompanist. I have experience with classical, orchestral, gospel, and jazz music, as well as around 3 years of experiencing teaching both instrumental and vocal music lessons to people of all ages.
Cancellations are allowed as long as there is at least 1 week notice before the planned lesson. I charge 50% of the original lesson fee for a cancellation if you are cancelling a lesson that is scheduled in under a week.
