About Alejandra

ENG: I am a native Spanish speaker, who has lived her whole life around the Spanish culture. I studied in my native language from the ages all through nursery and primary school, therefore it is the language that as a child and now feel most comfortable understanding and communicating myself through. As a child I have always spoken Spanish at home and to family members who only speak Spanish. When I converted to the English teaching system in secondary I did not hesitate to get my Spanish GCSE to which I achieved a 9 whilst also tutoring my fellow classmates. When in sixth form also obtained an A in my Spanish A level.

About the lesson

ENG: Lessons will be an hour long. To begin with we will have a conversation on what areas you think your strengths and weaknesses are. - For reading exercises such as reading out loud and analysing word for word together will be done. As we get better at reading, we can start taking on harder readings. - For writing, we will do simple exercises on where you feel less comfortable to improve and make it a strength. -For speaking, we will use tools such as scripts to aid you on your pronunciation, until we feel or see that we can start taking away that aid and use transferable skills to be able to hold a conversation in Spanish. All of these aspects will be reinforced throughout and you will gain flexibility skills through the different aspects of the language to gain grammar and vocabulary skills ESP: Las clases duraran una hora. Para empezar, tendremos una conversación sobre qué áreas crees que son tus fortalezas y debilidades. - Para la lectura se realizarán ejercicios como leer en voz alta y analizar palabra por palabra juntos. A medida que mejoramos en la lectura, podemos comenzar a asumir lecturas más difíciles. Para escribir, haremos ejercicios simples sobre dónde te sientes menos cómodo para mejorar y convertirlo en una fortaleza. -Para hablar, utilizaremos una herramienta como los guiones para ayudarte en tu pronunciación, hasta que veamos que podemos empezar a quitar esa ayuda. Utilizando habilidades transferibles de las lecturas y escrituras, como el vocabulario, vamos a empezar a practicar para poder mantener una conversación en español. Todos estos aspectos se reforzarán a lo largo de todo y obtendrá habilidades de flexibilidad a través de los diferentes aspectos del idioma para obtener la gramatica y el vocabulario.
