My teaching methods are to help students find what they love, both in story, in hobbies, and in tastes, and base lessons around things students already love and find familiar, such as their sets of interests, and form lessons and conversations around these things.
A typical lesson would consist of getting to know a student and then forming a lesson around their lifestyle, to make conversational lessons accessible and enjoyable.
I hold an MSc from University of Edinburgh, and a BA from Concordia University. I am the author of two novels, and a series of children's books. I have led university-level poetry workshops, and have been the editor on two different university literary journals.
Writing and reading should be fun, not scary or overwhelming. I believe in starting small and letting literacy in English be a joyful adventure.
