Spanish as a Foreign Language Certified Teacher, Communicative Methodology, Native Speaker, Lessons in GTA (Western)

Methodology

My methodology is on a one to one basis with a communicative approach and emphasis in speaking of words and commands. Teaching is an absolute passion of mine and learning Spanish will bring a lot of benefits to your life. As with all new skills, learning a foreign language requires practice. Thus, you should expect to work hard in this class; you should be prepared to study on your own as well as complete homework. You will be required to speak most of the time in Spanish during classes, as you will only have class time to practice.
You will discover the fun of speaking Spanish while building a basic vocabulary that can be put into practice at work, with friends, or while traveling. You can expect to develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills to communicate. Throughout the classes you will be introduced to different forms of the Hispanic world culture, from everyday life experiences, emphasis on communities, communication and connections.

Background

I am a Spanish Teacher with more than 2 years of experience. Also, I have 5 years of experience as a University Professor in Mexico. In addition, I am a Spanish Community Translator and Cultural Broker. My professional background included a Post-MBA, MBA, BA in Economics.
Learning Spanish would help you in getting involved in the communities that you will visit and communicate better with people who live there to learn about their culture and customs. I offer targeted Spanish lessons for travelers (business and leisure) to get you ready for the trip.

Alejandro's interview

QUESTION 01 | 05
When did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
Alejandro ‚ÄĒ Since I was very young, I started thinking about becoming a teacher because I admired some teachers. Also, I love learning different subjects that made me passionate about teaching. For me being a teacher is a natural career path as some family members are teachers, including my mother.
QUESTION 02 | 05
What makes you passionate about your subject?
Alejandro ‚ÄĒ I am intensely curious about the world and I love learning new things. I am driven by a deep desire to teach and help others. I give my heart and soul to my students. I want to make a difference in my students lives.
QUESTION 03 | 05
What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?
Alejandro ‚ÄĒ I like meeting students with different characters and personalities where I can learn from my language learners. Learning a language goes together with culture and for me is the best way to have exposure to different cultures and learn from it.
QUESTION 04 | 05
Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?
Alejandro ‚ÄĒ I had several teacher‚Äôs role models during my elementary, secondary and post secondary school years. The teachers that inspired me the most where the ones passionate about the subject. They had the knowledge but also, they could connect with me. The environment was of respect where I felt confident to ask any questions even the ones that could be ‚Äúsilly‚ÄĚ.
QUESTION 05 | 05
What are your keys to success?
Alejandro ‚ÄĒ First, Spanish is my native language. I lived, studied, and worked in a Spanish speaking country. I can speak professional business as well as slang language.
Second, I use the communicative methodology where I explain grammar, without students knowing it.
Third, I have the ability to connect with my students on a personal level. I express interest in my students’ interests and personalities.
Fourth, my students practice Spanish since the first lesson. I encourage them to practice all the time even beginners with no previous knowledge.
