An effective instructor always starts with a Needs Assessment of his/her learner. Lessons are always based on the skill areas that a student chooses to focus on. Part of my job as your private teacher is to help build your confidence and to encourage you to fully participate in the learning process, to ask questions and to not be afraid to take chances, even if it leads to a mistake. With my assistance, you will set short-term and long-term goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely (SMART), and monitor your progress along the way. This is all part of learning and, thus, improving. I believe that learning should be fun, which is why I create a friendly, safe and supportive environment for you to learn and to flourish in.
As a Native Speaker, I will help you dramatically improve your English proficiency in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing for general and academic purposes. I will help you comprehend main ideas and details when listening and reading. I will help you reduce your accent and speak more fluently using linking and reductions exercises, and improve your communication at an idiomatic level. I will help you to better express yourself in general and academic writing contexts. The study and use of proper grammar and vocabulary will weave its way throughout our integrated lessons.

Lisa is one of the best teachers I have had over my 20 years of study. She is very patient and kind . She is very literate and knowledgeable about her work. She knows precisely what are the needs of her students, and provides practical and helpful contents. I attended her ESL classes and the citizenship preparation . The classes were very helpful . I thank her very much for all the kindness and informative content that taught me so I can find my way as a newcomer to Canada. I will appreciate her forever.
“Lisa is a very patient, kind and knowledgeable teacher. Always on time. I cannot thank her enough for all help she gave me. l enjoyed working with her to improve my English language. Those information she provided me was super clear and base on my English level. I would highly recommend her.”
Lisa was my ESL class teacher, and helped me to improve my performance in English. Providing detail explanations and practice in class, Lisa ensured that my spoken and written English skills were sharpened. She has very strong knowledge in Canadian History and public affairs that helped me to know more about the Canadian culture and living style.
Great teacher! Highly recommend!!!!!
