About Meghan

I am a student at Lakehead University, completing my Bachelor of Education. I have over ten years of experience working with elementary school children in various settings, and a passion for teaching. My academic achievements in High School and University are reflective of my dedication to my education, and my success thereafter.

In my spare time I am an avid reader, and play a variety of instruments including piano and trumpet. When I am not studying, you can often find me enjoying time in nature, perfecting my crocheting skills, or playing Animal Crossing!

About the lesson

My name is Meghan and I'm excited to have the opportunity to use my skills and knowledge to assist YOU in achieving your academic goals and aspirations. I am currently in my first year of my Bachelor of Education at Lakehead University; in the meantime, I would love the opportunity to assist you or your child gain the necessary skills to excel in reading and writing. As a passionate future educator, I am knowledgeable of the benefits of integrating knowledge and resources from a variety of backgrounds into our educational practices; so feel free to come to me with ideas and questions about how I can tailor our time together to fit YOU!

I believe that learning is individualistic–no two students learn the same, and thus they shouldn't be taught using the same methods. My techniques are based under Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences, meaning my lessons can be adapted to any learning style. I believe that learning takes time and effort from both the teacher and the student; when the two can work together, lifelong learning takes place.
