I break up my teaching into three sections; Vocabulary, Oral and Grammar. From my experience, these are the areas that you need to work on in order to improve your overall exam performance. I use many online resources, and also have hard copy resources which helped me when I was studying GCSE Spanish and French (achieving A* in both). Closer to exam time, I will go through past papers with students and talk them through exam technique. I believe that one on one tutoring is very effective when it comes to language learning, because often it is difficult for a pupil to get the attention he needs in order to really practice the language (speaking in particular) so that he or she can progress.
I have taught english in cambodia and china, tutored French and Spanish for my siblings and cousins, and have taken a CELTA qualification in teaching english as a second language, where I learned the principles of teaching which I can apply to learning any language.
