About Wendy

I achieved high grade 9s in both GCSE English literature and English language in 2019 and an A* in A level English Literature. With a strong passion for English, I have extensive experience working with young people both individually and 1 to 1; I aim to not just teach, but inspire students and help them believe in and improve their own ability to analyse texts and write fluently - a key skill that will set them up for a bright future.

I strongly believe that everyone can achieve highly, if only you can find the right method that works for them. As such, classes are based entirely on the student’s needs, adding to their pre-existing strengths, and helping with their weaknesses in a way that most effectively helps them. Many texts in the new GCSEs require much more discussion of ideas than is often enabled in class. I aim to encourage students to consider any ideas they have, to allow them to explore texts in the direction they wish, whilst also keeping a clear focus on the assessment objectives required to succeed in exams
