I focus on problem-solving in three stages:
1. Understanding the big picture (what chemistry is happening?);
2. Figuring out the precise question (what does the problem ask you to do?);
3. Crunching in numbers (what do you need to do to get the final answer?).
I do both comprehensive subject overview (e.g. for GRE or a final exam) as well as step-by-step learning during the term. I will not make you do similar boring questions over and over again. My task is to identify gaps in your understanding and fix them.
I have tutored chemistry for over 7 years, including Chemistry GRE prep, Chemistry courses at York, UTM and St. George campus, High school chemistry - you name it. I have helped 11 high school students to get a good grasp of chemistry and related subjects. All 8 University students I taught have successfully passed their courses and 2 of them are now in their dream Graduate programs after successfully passing their Chemistry GRE.
I am a PhD candidate in Theoretical Chemistry at the California institute of Technology (Caltech). I have graduated from the University of Toronto with a Specialist in chemistry and a 3.98 GPA. English is not my mother tongue, but Science is.
