First of all, I would see with the person with whom I am teamed up what are her expectations, what that person want to learn (is it to be able to have regular conversations, is it for work, etc.) and how she would like to learn (speaking exercices, written exercices to do, learning some songs, etc.). I would work with the person to see which kind of teaching would be appropriate to her needs and interests.
Then, I would provide different types of exercices for the person and of course, try to have a little bit of fun while exercising.
I am a university student at UQAM in Montreal. Let me tell you a little bit about my story... At 4 years old, I decided I wanted to learn how to read, so my mom taught me. I loved it and it helped me a lot afterwards because when I got into primary school, it was so easy for me that I would spend the recess time inside with my teachers to correct the other students work. French has always been easy and fun for me, I have always had great grades without having to study hard and I want to share my passion and enthusiasm for this language with others who are eager to learn it.
Perfect! My daughter had her first session with Elodie today. Elodie was very prepared and they spent the entire hour chatting in French. The session was very engaging and Morgan is looking forward to continue working with Elodie to develop her skills. We couldn't have asked for a better first session!
