Having learned and done art all my life, I am extremely passionate about it and have developed a simple methodology towards art- art takes time, takes inspiration, and is subjective. This is how I've always operated and therefore plan to teach in a similar way- push students to draw material from their thoughts, feelings, or surroundings, and taking time to do so. I will of course suggest methods, tools etc. I've learned to get certain results in the various types of art, but will focus on allowing students to experience and manipulate these in their own ways.
I am a student attending university at the University of Toronto St. George Campus, currently in the social sciences faculty. Going into second year, I look to pursue a double major in criminology, political science and/or sociology. Teaching wise, I've been involved in multiple groups such as link crew (helping grade 9's get accustomed to high school through general tutoring and personal advice), as well as reading buddies (helping kindergarteners read, write, and draw). My previous job was teaching an autistic woman art, through planning projects and strategies for completion.
