About Sadie
Hi I'm Sadie, a visual artist from the Bay Area specializing in figurative oil painting. I hold a B.A. in Studio Arts, Art History, and Psychology from Oberlin College, and studied abroad at the Santa Reparata International School for the Arts in Florence, Italy. My work has received institutional support through grants and commissions, including the year-long 2025-2026 Robertson LGBTQ+ Arts Project Grant.
My professional background is in museum education and programs, facilitating K-12 and adult learning. I have also worked as an arts educator at a New York City public middle school and as a counselor at numerous Bay Area art summer camps. Currently I work in visitor operations for an arts and media nonprofit in Brooklyn and do artistic commission work.
I am formally trained in figurative oil painting, drawing on traditional European oil painting techniques from the thirteenth through sixteenth centuries. My art historical knowledge primarily focuses on Italian and French Renaissance and Baroque eras.
