About the lesson
Hi, I'm Alice Lyu, and it's my pleasure to be your tutor! 你好，我是Alice，很高兴能帮助你学习中文！
My teaching experience involves oral expressions, writing practices, grammar studies, and accent reduction in Mandarin. I am always a good listener with full patience to help every student improve their Mandarin and achieve their goals. I typically have a small chat with a student in the first class, evaluate their levels reasonably, and tailor course schedules for them. I deliver classes in sections(e.g.Oral Section, Writing Section), and students can choose any sections they prefer to start first.
Mandarin is not easy to learn, but it's also full of stories and fun. I'd start with pinyin and pronunciation, and then get to words, phrases and sentence structures. For students who want advanced lessons, I'd start with Mandarin literature and drama. In all, I will guarantee every student an interesting and rewarding learning experience.
I am outgoing and friendly with students, and I'd like to make sure my class is always a safe place for people to talk in Mandarin without fear to make mistakes.
My lessons are for Elementary level to Advanced level Mandarin speakers.

Hello, I am Alice! I've been teaching Chinese as a private teacher for over 5 years. I graduated from Peking University, and I am currently pursuing a master's degree at University of Toronto. I come from Guangdong China, which is a beautiful place with delicious food^^. My students vary from primary school students to adults, but they all share the same love and passion for Chinese language and culture. It's always my pleasure to talk with them, help them improve step by step, and finally witness their success in Mandarin tests or job searching.
My class serves as a warm and safe place for you to talk about anything you are interested in, and you don't need to worry about making mistakes. I will give advice and corrections based on your comfort level. I hope we will make great progress together, and I can't wait to meet you soon!

Details
Hourly rate is $30 for online classes, and $35 for in-person classes within 2km from my address. If travelling is required, bus/subway ticket will be charged on top of the hourly rate.
