I approach science with an open mind and moderate structure. It is important to understand every student has preferences and I aim to work with those preferences (ie. more focus on hands on) to achieve the best result. I prefer to tailor each tutoring session to how the student would like it to be including delivery method, comfort level, and how long they wish for the session to be. Maximizing on the optimal conditions that students learn can provide the best results. A brief 1 hour lesson would go as follows: an overview of what I would like to cover, options for readings/videos, lesson will begin with either of the previous choices and discussion to follow, practice questions/case studies will be done, and finally an outstanding questions or areas of concern will be addressed.
I am a recent biology graduate who has been tutoring science for about 6 years. I also volunteer my time in high school science classes helping students review concepts and teachers execute lessons. I aspire to become a science teacher in the near future.
