About Luke
I have been playing and teaching guitar for over 11 years, and it remains my greatest passion. I hold a Bachelor of Music Education with a focus on guitar, which has given me a strong foundation in both performance and pedagogy. My goal is to help students connect with music emotionally while developing solid technical skills. I emphasize proper technique from the very beginning, ensuring students play comfortably and efficiently. Music theory is integrated naturally into lessons, helping learners understand chord progressions, scales, and song structures. I guide students to navigate the fretboard with confidence, making practice both effective and enjoyable. Whether you are a beginner or advanced player, I tailor lessons to your individual goals. I focus on building finger dexterity, ear training, and practical fluency so you can express yourself freely through music. I also explore a variety of styles, from classical and jazz to contemporary and worship-oriented playing. I encourage creativity and improvisation alongside structured learning. Performance and confidence-building are part of every lesson. Most importantly, I want my students to feel the joy and emotion that music can bring. Together, we will transform technique and theory into expressive, soulful guitar playing.

My teaching approach focuses on building a strong foundation while making learning enjoyable and practical. I start with proper ergonomic techniques to ensure comfort and prevent strain. Open chords and power chords are introduced early to develop confidence in playing a variety of songs. Finger dexterity exercises are incorporated to enhance speed, accuracy, and fluidity.
I emphasize ear training to help students recognize melodies, chords, and progressions by ear. Music theory is integrated naturally, including Roman Numeral Chord Nomenclature, to give students a deeper understanding of how music works. I encourage exploring different guitar styles, from fingerstyle to worship and contemporary playing, to broaden versatility.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s level, whether beginner, intermediate, or advanced. I use a step-by-step approach, breaking complex concepts into simple, digestible parts. Practice routines are designed to reinforce skills without feeling overwhelming.
I guide students to perform confidently, supporting their growth in live playing and recording scenarios. Creativity and expression are nurtured alongside technical proficiency. My goal is to make every student enjoy the guitar while achieving real progress
