Quiz :Who Took the First Ever Photo?
The first ever photograph, known as "View from the Window at Le Gras", was captured in 1826 or 1827 by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, a French inventor. Using a process called heliography, Niépce coated a pewter plate with bitumen of Judea, a light-sensitive substance that hardened upon exposure to sunlight. The exposure took several hours, during which the light gradually etched an image of the view from Niépce's window in Saint-Loup-de-Varennes, France. This pioneering work laid the foundation for modern photography, marking the moment when light was first permanently captured on a surface.
