About Blair

I’m a passionate violin tutor with over ten years of experience and a **Bachelor of Music in Chamber Music (Violin Focus)**. My teaching goes beyond playing notes—I integrate **music theory, aural skills, and sight reading** directly into violin practice. Students don’t just memorize pieces; they understand the “why” behind the music, building a foundation that supports every style they explore. In each lesson, we connect **scales, intervals, and harmony** to practical bowing and fingering exercises, making technical work both meaningful and musical. This approach helps students see how theory lives on the strings, not just on paper. I also bring chamber music sensibilities into lessons, emphasizing listening, blending, and sensitivity to phrasing.
