Struggling with your self-study? Have your ATPL exams coming up and need to refresh troublesome subject areas?

As an experienced flying instructor and active commercial pilot, with over 15 years of experience across both, I can support you in your learning goals to not just PASS your theory subjects, but actually UNDERSTAND them.

My teaching style is not 'death-by-powerpoint', but an interactive two way discussion allowing you to dig into the subject matter as deeply as you need.

I cover all PPL/ATPL subjects:
~ General navigation
~ Instrumentation
~ Flight planning
~ Meteorology
~ Human performance & limitations
~ Communications (IFR / VFR)
~ Mass & balance
~ Radio navigation
~ Aircraft general knowledge
~ Aviation law
~ Operational procedures
~ Principles of flight
~ Performance

Plus bespoke sessions for post-ATPL, which include:
~ Night flying and instrument ratings: theoretical elements
~ GNSS / RNAV approaches
~ CRP-1 in-depth tuition
~ CV writing, job application and interview prep

So, whether you are just starting on your PPL journey, working your way through ATPL distance learning or trying to get your foot in the door in a tough industry at a tough time, get in touch.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
* Due to Covid-19 safeguarding, all sessions are being offered online online via Zoom, using video face-to-face and interactive whiteboard/presentations.

* As an active commercial pilot I am (like most of us in the aviation industry!) subject to the occasional last-minute roster change, standby callout or weather/tech delay. Where I do try and avoid scheduling sessions for working days, you will be advised in advance if there is a possible disruption as far ahead as I can. It's rare - but it sadly happens from time to time.

* Likewise, I try and take a pragmatic approach to student cancellations. The more notice you can give me, the better and we can usually just rearrange again with no drama.

* If you are a regular student, I can share my future availability using CALENDLY, allowing you visibility of open slots and first pick of sessions.

* Also, as a regular student, I welcome (at no extra charge) the occasional question on email. So if it's just a small point of clarification that doesn't quite require a 30 minute session I'll aim to get back to you asap.

* Best of all - your first session is FREE! We'll use the time to get a sense of where you are in your learning journey, to highlight areas you'd be looking to work on and usually allows a little time to cover a short topic so you get an idea of my teaching style. There's no hard sell or pressure whatsoever to sign up to any future sessions - and if nothing more, you get to just expand your professional network!

NEW 2021 SESSION RATES (with some illustrative examples on how much might be achieved within that time).

30 min = £22
Typically enough time to discuss and clarify a few problematic ATPL question bank questions you might be having or to focus on a single element of a theory subject. Useful if you are time-limited and just need a point in the right direction for your self study.

60 min = £35
Slightly more in-depth look at a subject area. Helpful if you advise me with details of specifically what you’d like to cover in advance so notes can be prepared to enable us to get the most out the session. An example might be a look at how an NDB/ADF functions as part of your RNav studies covering key points which appear in the EASA question bank and finishing up with a few simple examples on how to tackle them.

90 min session = £50
As above but with an ability to focus much more in depth on the topic and cover more questions. For the above example of ADF/NDB we would also expect to be able to cover not just the equipment/principles of operation and the simpler relative bearing calculations but also introduce the occasionally more tricky questions which bring in heading/track/drift.

120 min session = £65
As an example, time to cover all the principles of NDB/VOR/DME and ILS with sample questions for each and time to work through answers. Or perhaps a more in depth look at Weather Frontal Systems as part of your Met studies.

Half Day Session (4.5hrs) / Full Day Session (7hrs).
Got your exams coming up? These longer sessions will enable us to go back over any areas of the syllabus that you’re getting stuck on and get you the strong pass you’ve worked hard for. Or perhaps you’ve got your ATPL theory but have a sim ride / interview / aptitude test coming up for an airline job - let me help take the mystery out of them.

Half day (09:30am - 2pm) or (12:30pm – 5pm) = £130
Full day (10am – 5pm) = £220

Longer sessions will be broken up with short breaks and can also be shared with one other student by prior arrangement.
