About Leelu
Hi! I’m a recent high school graduate with a strong background in both academics and aquatics. I’ve been swimming since I was 6 years old, and over the years, the pool has become my second home. I’m a local at Minoru Aquatic Centre in Richmond, where I’ve not only trained but also taught swimming lessons as a certified instructor. My teaching experience extends from UBC’s Geering Up Engineering Outreach Program to school mentorships and swim instruction. I’ve worked with children, teens, and adults at all skill levels, and I pride myself on being patient, adaptable, and encouraging—no matter the learner’s age or background. If you have questions about swimming lessons or specific goals, I’m happy to help! I have access to Minoru’s lesson requirements and can work with you to meet them—whether your child is just starting out or preparing for Bronze Medallion or Bronze Cross. Whether we’re working in the classroom or the pool, my goal is to create a supportive, welcoming space where learning feels rewarding, fun, and tailored just for you.

Hi, I’m Leelu—a certified instructor with experience teaching a diverse range of students, from toddlers to seniors. I believe every student learns differently. That’s why I start by getting to know each person’s goals, comfort level, and learning style. From there, I create a personalized plan that moves at their own pace. Whether you're learning to float, preparing for Bronze Medallion, or brushing up on strokes, I meet you where you’re at—with patience, encouragement, and care. What a Lesson Looks Like: Each lesson starts with a quick review to build confidence, then we move step-by-step through new skills. I make sure to keep things calm, supportive, and goal-focused—no pressure, just steady progress. Who Lessons Are For -> Kids learning to swim or needing support in school subjects -> Teens preparing for Bronze Medallion or Bronze Cross -> Adults who want to overcome their fear of water or learn how to swim from the beginning -> Anyone who wants patient, personalized, and encouraging guidance If you're looking for someone who truly cares and will support you or your child every step of the way, I’m here to help! :)
