• When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  During my university years, I discovered the joy of teaching through part-time tutoring. Later, while studying abroad in France, I volunteered to teach Japanese, which deepened my interest in language education and cross-cultural exchange. These experiences sparked my passion for Japanese language instruction.
  
  After returning to Japan, I obtained the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test certification to enhance my understanding of my native language. Additionally, I earned a childcare qualification, which provided me with insights into child development and education. Through my experience as a childcare worker, I developed skills in patience, observation, and empathy-qualities that are invaluable in tailoring my teaching approach to meet each student's unique needs, regardless of age.

• What makes you passionate about your subject?

  Japanese is more than just a language; it's a gateway to understanding the culture and values of Japan. I find great fulfillment in helping learners discover new perspectives and gain confidence in communication through Japanese.
  
  My background in childcare has taught me the importance of nurturing individual growth, which I apply in my language teaching by creating supportive and adaptable learning environments.

• What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  I take great satisfaction in witnessing the progress of each student. My experience in childcare has honed my patience and empathy, enabling me to provide personalized instruction that resonates with learners of all ages.
  
  For younger students, I incorporate elements of pop culture, such as manga and anime, to make lessons engaging and interactive. For adult learners, I focus on practical language skills and cultural understanding relevant to their professional needs.   Yes, a French language teacher I met in Quebec greatly influenced my teaching philosophy. Her clear explanations of grammar and thoughtfully designed activities made learning accessible and enjoyable. Beyond academics, she provided guidance and support as I navigated life as an immigrant, demonstrating the profound impact a teacher can have. I aspire to emulate her approach by being both an effective educator and a trusted mentor to my students.
