About Hugo

I am a Project Architect working for a top-tier contractor, with experience in a variety of projects, particularly in the educational and residential sector. I graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 2019 with an MArch with distinction and was awarded the Professor Charles Gourlay Memorial Prize for excellence in my final year.

I am proficient in 2D and 3D drawing and modelling, model making, and architectural visualisation. I have extensive experience using Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and all Adobe software, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.

I have been tutoring through Superprof for over 5 years, and I have consistently seen improvements in my students' grades as they gain confidence in their design and technical skills. I have also helped Part 2 assistants successfully pass their Part 3 examination.

In addition to over 5 years of tutoring experience, I have been a guest tutor at the University of Strathclyde’s summative reviews for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. I have also supervised students during work placements and guided 2nd-year students during their 5-week 'Experience of Practice' placement.

As a strong advocate of sustainability in architecture, I am dedicated to helping students integrate carbon calculation techniques and sustainable design principles into their projects.

About the lesson

My tutoring methodology is adaptable, flexible, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. I’m a strong advocate for encouraging students to apply their creativity and design vision to reach their full potential and achieve high design standards at university. Sometimes, all it takes is a bit of guidance!

I am approachable, patient, and committed to understanding each student’s individual design vision. I’ll help assess how that vision can be refined to meet the objectives of a design brief, both from a design and technical perspective. Additionally, I offer expertise in sustainability and carbon calculations, ensuring your designs are environmentally conscious and technically sound.

With over 5 years of tutoring experience, I’ve seen my students gain confidence in their design skills and technical abilities, which is reflected in improvements to their grades!
