About Dorian

I am a dedicated guitar instructor with a Bachelor’s degree in Music and over five years of teaching experience, working with students ranging from absolute beginners to advanced players. My own journey with the guitar began in childhood, fueled by curiosity and inspired by a deep love of musical storytelling. Over the years, that passion has grown into a commitment to helping others find their own path through music. My teaching approach is shaped by real-world experience as both an educator and performer. I’ve played in various settings—from acoustic sessions to full band environments—which allows me to bring practical insight and versatility into each lesson. I enjoy connecting with students’ interests, whether that means breaking down their favorite songs or introducing them to new techniques and styles. I emphasize patience, structure, and creativity. My goal is to make guitar playing both accessible and rewarding by building confidence alongside skill. I adapt to different learning styles and make sure every student feels seen, heard, and supported. Whether preparing for a performance or just strumming for fun, I aim to nurture musical growth and curiosity in every session. Outside of teaching, I stay active as a musician—collaborating on projects, writing original music, and continuing my own learning. I believe in lifelong growth and bring that same mindset to my students. Teaching guitar is not just about chords and scales; it’s about inspiring a love for music and helping each student enjoy the unique voice they can create through their instrument.

About the lesson

Guitar lessons are designed to be approachable, creative, and motivating—no matter your age or experience level. Beginners start by learning proper posture, tuning, hand positioning, and basic chord progressions, laying a strong foundation for enjoyable, lifelong playing. Each session is paced to suit your comfort while encouraging consistent progress and skill retention.

As students grow more confident, we delve into more complex techniques such as strumming patterns, scales, and fingerpicking. Lessons are interactive and song-based, helping students apply skills to real music they enjoy. Whether it’s pop, rock, classical, or acoustic fingerstyle, we work with the genres that excite and challenge you most.

Theory is integrated seamlessly into each lesson to help students understand the music they’re playing—learning how chords are built, why certain progressions work, and how to improvise. Ear training and rhythm exercises further strengthen overall musicianship and make students more well-rounded players.

Each student is guided with care, patience, and a personalized approach. Whether your goal is to play solo, jam with others, or write your own songs, these lessons are tailored to help you achieve it with confidence and creativity. The aim is not only to improve your technical skill but to support your musical voice and enjoyment every step of the way.
