I had the pleasure of teaching Niki during her time at Ryerson, and she stood out from the very beginning for both her technical curiosity and her creative instincts. She consistently demonstrated a strong grasp of audio fundamentals—from signal flow to DAW proficiency—and always approached projects with a thoughtful, musical ear.

What impressed me most, however, was her continued involvement after graduation. Niki returned to assist with several of my production and engineering classes, helping guide students through hands-on sessions and offering feedback during mix critiques. She has a calm, approachable presence that students really responded to, and a deep working knowledge of both analog and digital workflows across multiple DAWs.

Niki brings a rare combination of professionalism, reliability, and genuine passion for sound. She’s equally comfortable in a teaching environment as she is behind the console, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her for any role involving music production, audio education, or technical mentorship.

Niki’s been teaching my 12-year-old son drums for the past few months and it’s honestly been such a great fit. She has this very calm, encouraging vibe that really works for him — not too formal, but still focused. What I love most is how she gets him learning by playing actual songs he’s into, which keeps him really engaged. He comes out of every lesson excited to show me what he’s learned, and he’s picking things up way faster than I expected.

We’ve known Nkki through family friends for a while, so I already knew she was a super talented musician, but seeing her work with my son has made me appreciate how great she is as a teacher too. Can’t recommend her enough.
