About Jill
My life's work (30 years and 21 remotely) is as a university instructor. My discipline is Philosophy and, mainly, Critical Thinking, Logic, Social & Political Theory, and Ethics. FYI, though, I'm not an academic snob! :D I prefer working with all kinds of people, discussing things and helping to develop their understandings and skills, rather than being among only academic folk. My lessons can be tailored to all ages and levels of skill (ages 8 to 98+). Approach A: You present me with something you are working on and questions you have for successful completion. I will provide feedback, talk with you, and give advice. Approach B: I will present a short reading or exercise, with some questions for you related to, for example, word meanings and pronunciations, punctuation, sentence and paragraph structures, referencing, comprehension, and critical analysis. You will complete the exercise, after which we will discuss your responses and determine strengths and weaknesses, aiming to improve and correct the weaknesses. If useful, I'll, then, provide another, focused, short assignment for you, and we will do the same again. Your efforts will be encouraged and rewarded! Your work will improve! We will be a team and, likely, I will learn things too!
