About Amy

I have 8 years' experience teaching Media and Film Studies to 16+ learners in a college environment. I have thoroughly enjoyed developing my teaching style and techniques within the classroom over the years. Due to the pandemic this was adapted to suit online lessons using Microsoft Teams, I have developed my online delivery to include effective teacher and learner-led activities to engage students of all abilities. I have experience teaching OCR A-Level Media Studies, OCR Level 2 Cambridge Technical Diploma in Media, OCR Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Creative Media Practice, BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Creative Media Practice and AQA A-level Media Studies (unit 1 exam). Units/subjects I have experience delivering: OCR Level 2 Cambridge Technical Media • Unit 1 Introducing Media Products • Unit 12 Print Media Skills • Unit 33 Comics and Graphic Novels OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Diploma Media • Unit 11 Scriptwriting • Unit 55 Talk and Music Radio Production • Unit 24 Preparing for a Career in the Media Industry • Unit 23 Planning for Media Exhibitions or Events BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Creative Media Practice • Social Media • Journalism • Graphic Design If you would like any support on the above areas I can adapt delivery to suit your needs and requirements. We can discuss this in your free 1 hr lesson.

About the lesson

Qualifications: BA (Hons) in Film, TV and Journalism PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education. I am available to teach in the evenings Mon, Tuesday, Thurs and Fri and available Sunday afternoon. My lessons are 1 hour long. They are suitable for 14+ studying GCSE, level 2, level 3, A-level Media/Film Studies requiring additional support or tuition. You may not be studying the above qualifications but also have a keen interest in media and be looking to develop your skills and knowledge further which I can also help with. I have experience marking coursework and mock exams so will be able to offer advice and guidance on areas for improvement. I firmly believe that all learners have a unique learning style and no two learners are the same. All lessons will be adapted to suit each individual learner once we have had an initial discussion outlining the learner's needs and requirements.

She always use to email me straight away if I needed help, even on the weekends when I struggled with homework etc. Also she made me feel comfortable to ask her for help when I needed and gave me a lot confidence in my abilities which enabled me to go to university after.
