About Piper

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music with a specialization in piano performance and have six years of teaching experience. My academic background, combined with hands-on performance practice, allows me to teach students not only technical skills but also the artistic and expressive aspects of playing piano. Over the years, I have taught more than forty students, ranging from beginners to advanced learners preparing for exams, recitals, or auditions. Many of my students have reached personal milestones such as mastering challenging repertoire, performing confidently in public, and developing their own musical style and voice. In addition to teaching, I actively perform, study new repertoire, and explore contemporary piano literature. This ongoing involvement allows me to bring fresh insights and current techniques into lessons. My mission is to help students master the piano while fostering a lifelong love and appreciation for music.

About the lesson

My piano lessons begin by focusing on building a solid technical foundation. Students practice proper hand positioning, scales, and arpeggios to strengthen finger independence and accuracy. These fundamentals ensure that learners can approach more complex pieces with confidence while developing strong, healthy habits at the keyboard.

As lessons progress, I emphasize sight-reading, rhythm comprehension, and harmonic understanding. Students learn to read music fluently, interpret rhythms accurately, and understand chord progressions. This stage enables learners to approach new pieces with independence, improving both their reading skills and overall musical versatility in various styles and genres.

Performance and musical expression are central components of my teaching. Learners explore dynamics, phrasing, and stylistic interpretation while practicing memorization and stage presence. By integrating these elements, students gain confidence to perform in recitals, examinations, or casual settings, expressing music with both technical precision and emotional depth.
