About Emily

For as long as I can remember, I'd always love to tell stories. I've always been fascinated with worlds so different from my own with new and exciting things I'd want to explore.
In fact, after I had participated in my school's production of Beauty and the Beast at age 6, I told my dad "I love acting because I get to be someone else."

Since then, I am always looking for new and exciting ways to expand my creative repertoire. I participated in a NIDA Open workshop for high schoolers in 2017, performed in Grease: The Arena Experience and YounghartsLive alongside Silvie Paladino, Thomas Lacey and Rhonda Burchmore in 2018 and 2019 respectively and collaborated with QL2Dance and Canberra Youth Theatre (as part of the Emerge Company) during my gap year in 2022. My screen credits include a short film organised by my singing teacher Dianna Nixon that was shown at the Canberra short film festival, a short film that was featured at Gungahlin College's Cinema 6 and as an extra in Heartbreak High (2021) and The Twelve (where I can very clearly be seen).

During my spare time, I am working on a new piece to develop; whether it be a story, play or dance item.
I can't wait to meet you and help you work towards your performance or creative goals! :)

About the lesson

Having had experience in many creative projects such as collaborating with professional choreographers, devising her own work under the guidance of those working in the industry and gaining experience through extra and pre-professional work, Emily has developed intriguing approaches to creative work.

Within an hour, she will help her students find what warm up exercises will assist with the needs of their voice, take them through methods she has adapted from her fifteen years of dance training to assist with their movement journey, then workshop any pieces that are to be used for auditions and school assessments.

Her lessons are suitable for school aged people, from those just beginning their dramatic exploration to those with some experience in productions or creative work.
