About Shankamali
I have loved teaching as long as I remember. It has been my profession of choice as I enjoy watching people learn and grow. It is also one of the only professions in the world where the teachers learn as much as the students as 'Science never stops' and there's always new material to explore.
I have my Masters in Zoology. I also have a Master of Philosophy degree which allows me to teach in Colleges in my home country. Therefore, for the past 25 years, I have taught both in Colleges and Schools in India. I am 62 years old, retired and have presently migrated to Canada.
As much as I'm enjoying my retirement, I realize that my passion for teaching and learning is very much still in me. And I would enjoy it much more with students around me. Therefore, I want to get back into a classroom (albeit virtual, and I'm learning to understand how to navigate Zoom and other platforms :) ).
I look forward to meeting you, help you reach your academic goals, and learn science with you.

I understand that every student and their needs are unique. I personally enjoy interactive and conversational sessions and motivate my students to participate as much as they can. But no pressure:) I use different approaches to make sure you meet your goals of real learning.
I hope to teach Middle School and High School students who may need to understand a topic better.
I will be using different techniques that includes using an online board to illustrate examples, and also drawing diagrams to better understand detail.
