About Rodrigue
A 2nd year student at Sciences-Po as part of a double degree with Columbia University, I grew up in the United States before taking my baccalaureate at the EJM (École Jeannine Manuel). Perfectly bilingual, therefore, I already have experience as an English tutor but also Maths.
But I am not defined only by academics. I am passionate about sports and would like to work in this area later. I have always played club football and participated in several ski competitions.
Finally, I would say that I am a pretty outgoing person and that I like to meet new people. So if tutoring is a way to learn, I consider it a way to meet you as well.
If you trust me, I will help you with your academic journey and make sure the classes are fun to take.

Having given lessons to pupils of different ages, I believe in adapting these lessons to the pupil I work with.
When I have helped children in Primary, I have always tried to set up fun education, sometimes in the form of games. For example, when I taught a girl the basics of English in third grade, I taught her certain key words in order to play "Who Is This" with her. This makes it possible to see the class session as a fun learning time rather than as a chore.
For older students, I first try to talk with them for 5 minutes at the start of the session in order to establish a report so that the cooperation is better and the course more pleasant to live. If I had to describe a typical 2 hour session, I would do it this way: 5 minutes of discussion at the start of the class (both to talk and to know what to work on today), one hour of hard work (whether it's the resolution of exercises or comprehension of a course), 5 minutes break so as not to explode before finishing on 50 minutes of work.
In absolute terms, I am convinced that a private teacher should try to build a minimum of relationship with the student he is responsible for. Indeed, private lessons are sometimes seen as a chore since they add extra work to that which is done at school, which can be annoying. This is why I think it is essential to get along well so that the course is less burdensome for the student - and that it goes well.
Finally, I give courses in all subjects until the end of college. As for high school, I give lessons in Maths (I passed a baccalaureate ES specializing in Maths), English, and SES.
