About Emma
My name is Emma and I am a full-time canoe athlete for Great Britain. Outside of sport, I have a huge passion for maths. Because of my sporting commitments, I can’t currently pursue a career with my Maths Degree, however I would love to put my knowledge to good use. Tutoring is a perfect opportunity for this!

I studied Maths & Further Maths at GCSE and A level before starting my undergraduate degree in Applied Maths in 2019. Throughout my time at university I’ve worked on problems with my peers and presented my workings to small lecture classes in my final two years of study. I will graduate July 2023.
The best way to learn maths is by doing lots of examples (and I wish I learned this sooner!). I use a range of examples, with varying difficulty level and support (based on the students needs), to build understanding and confidence. I also use multiple approaches to explain a subject, including visually.
Sessions are tailored to the students specific needs. I can teach specific topic areas or provide additional support alongside the taught curriculum. Sessions typically last 60 minutes and are suitable for GCSE and A level students of all abilities
