About Connor

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music and have spent the last seven years helping students of all ages and backgrounds grow as guitarists. I bring a calm, focused teaching approach that encourages creativity while steadily building technical skill and musical understanding. My experience includes private lessons, school programs, and online instruction. I’ve worked with complete beginners, aspiring performers, and casual learners alike. I aim to create an environment where students feel supported, challenged, and motivated to keep picking up the instrument with joy. Beyond teaching, I perform regularly, write music, and stay updated with evolving guitar styles and educational methods. I believe in practical learning balanced with personal expression—and I work hard to ensure each student connects with the music they play on a deeper level.

About the lesson

Lessons begin with a focus on the essentials: tuning, posture, hand coordination, and basic chord progressions. Whether you’re starting fresh or brushing up on skills, we build from your current level to ensure a comfortable, clear, and rewarding introduction to guitar playing.

As your foundation strengthens, we move into more detailed techniques like fingerpicking, scale navigation, rhythm patterns, and strumming dynamics. Lessons often include playing along with songs to connect theory with real-world application, helping you improve timing, transitions, and overall musical feel.

Advanced lessons introduce soloing, improvisation, and genre-specific styles such as blues, rock, or acoustic pop. We’ll also touch on songwriting, music theory, and ear training. Every session is tailored to your interests and pace, designed to keep learning both effective and inspiring.
