About Ursula
I bring over 7 years of experience and a BM in Jazz Violin Studies to my work as a violin tutor. My background includes extensive performance in solo, chamber, and orchestral music, giving me a broad perspective to share. I specialize in preparing students for auditions, focusing on stage presence and interpretation. I work with high school musicians aiming for youth orchestras as well as conservatory students pursuing advanced study. Lessons include a strong focus on advanced repertoire, tone quality, and bowing technique. I also guide students in building confidence under performance pressure. Mock auditions and performance coaching are central to my approach. I believe every student has a unique musical voice worth developing. My teaching style is structured yet encouraging, always aiming to inspire growth. Over time, I’ve seen learners transform into confident and expressive performers. Each student receives guidance suited to their personal strengths and goals. Together, we’ll prepare you for the auditions that matter most. Teaching violin for me is about balancing discipline and creativity. I guide students through strong technical foundations while opening doors to imagination. We explore arranging melodies, writing original pieces, and trying new sound techniques. This helps students grow in both skill and creativity. For adult learners, I create a supportive space that builds confidence. For creative players, I help ideas turn into expressive music. Improvisation is welcomed in every lesson, alongside structured practice. I give feedback that strengthens both accuracy and artistry. Students learn that their violin voice is unique and worth developing. Lessons combine exercises, experiments, and real performance practice. Over time, learners gain confidence not just in playing but in creating. I want every student to connect personally with their instrument. Together, we’ll compose your own violin story.
