Why Learn the Portuguese Language?

Portuguese is not only spoken in Portugal, but in Brazil and in several African countries, including Mozambique and Angola.

It is also one of the ten languages identified as the most important for the future of the United Kingdom by the British Council’s report on languages for the future.

Portuguese is pronounced differently in Brazil and Portugal. Just as there are differences between American English and British English, there are differences between Brazilian Portuguese and Portuguese Portuguese.

Some words are different and could sometimes cause confusion!

Beginners of the Portuguese Language

Learning Portuguese, whether to become bilingual or to be a Portuguese speaker in order to just converse, will take time.

Why not take a trip to Sao Paulo Brazil to prepare? Or register your child in a language school in Lisbon.

If you have been fascinated by the Portuguese language and culture for a while, a trip to Portugal Brazil is a good place to start.

Portuguese is also one of the Romance languages in the same way as French, Spanish or Italian, so it is close to French and Spanish grammar.

You may, therefore, find it is easier to learn Portuguese rather than learn German or Chinese for example.

If you already have a starting level in Portuguese, your private lessons with our teachers will allow you to enrich your Portuguese vocabulary and learn how to juggle new words.

What Do Portuguese Private Lessons Involve?

At Superprof, a reference for language lessons, you will be able to get started and improve your language learning with qualified, competent, experienced  teachers: natives of Brazil or Portugal, Portuguese graduates, certified, bilingual English-Portuguese translators or simply passionate polyglots…

At first, your teacher will evaluate your language level and build a method with teaching materials accordingly.

If you are a beginner, you will work on phonetics and the alphabet, immerse yourself in the sounds of the language and facilitate reading and writing.

Beware! The Portuguese alphabet is different from the Spanish alphabet, in the same way the Italian alphabet varies from French. Some vowels are different, and they are more common in Portuguese than in Spanish.

Our private tutors can adapt to your level and your requests to satisfy your objectives. They will build a method to suit the needs of the learner: intensive courses to improve or learn grammar (conjugated verbs and irregular verbs, adverbs, adjectives, pronouns, etc.), Portuguese vocabulary or idiomatic expressions, a Portuguese tutoring course, bachelor’s degree review course, summer school, etc.

They will provide the right environment to enjoy your language learning experience, increase your skills, or even become fluent in Portuguese.
