📍 Detailed Event Information
Now, let's look at the key information for each HYROX event, from Toronto, Vancouver, and Ottawa.
Venue: Enercare Centre
Registered participants: 6901 for 14 divisions
Past HYROX Toronto 2024 participants: 3707
Toronto is a special city for HYROX Canada because it serves as the North American season opener for the 2025/2026 calendar, having organized the event the year before.
There has been a steady increase in participants due to Ontario's growing interest and awareness of this event.
Additionally, the racing location, Enercare Centre, is Canada’s largest exhibition and convention centre. 2

Now, let's look at two Canadian cities that will be hosting HYROX for the first time.

Perhaps you've decided to sign up for the next HYROX event, so what comes next? It’s time to start getting yourself into shape (or into even better shape, for those aiming for a Top-100 finish).
Be sure to diversify your training to include endurance running with functional strength training routines because you'll need to develop strength and pace as you go through the race.
Here's an overview of the HYROX fitness racing stations as you run 1km between them:

Let's see some solid pointers to incorporate various training workouts and effective exercises.

Training Action for Running: Dedicate 2-3 days per week to aerobic running, allowing your body to become accustomed to low-intensity, long-duration exercise. Make sure it's at least a 1 km running session to simulate the actual running distance of HYROX as you transition between stations.

Training Action for HYROX Station Workouts: Enroll in a HYROX gym near you to familiarize yourself with all the key exercises of the eight stations, whether it's sled pushes, rowing, or wall balls. While doing the stations, be sure to monitor your heartbeat and keep a consistent pace to avoid burnout at an early stage.
Balance Training with Rest and Nutrition: While it's good to have a consistent training routine, it's important to let your body rest and recover (especially for your muscles). Have a full one-day rest per week and always stretch and warm up before training.
In terms of dietary intake, consume sufficient carbohydrate and protein to have enough energy to power through. Also, be sure to stay hydrated during the event day itself!
📣 Registration Process
If you are joining HYROX for the first time, it would be great to know the characteristics of the four main divisions offered by HYROX before finalizing your registration.
Open Division
- Most accessible category for men and women
- Stations feature standard weights
- Ideal for beginners and casual competitors
Pro Division
- A more challenging category
- Stations feature heavier weights
- Ideal for professional athletes
- Pro Doubles (men/women) will have heavier weights than the regular pro categories
You can join HYROX with either a partner or a team in the following categories:
Doubles
- Open to men/women/mixed partners
- Each participant will run together and split the exercises at the station
Relay
- A four-person team of men/women/mixed participation
- Each person completes 2 x 1km runs and 2 workout stations.
Here's a guideline of the registration process via the HYROX Canada website.
1. Go to the Events button and select the Find Your Race option. Choose your designated country (Canada) and city (Toronto, Vancouver, or Ottawa).
2. Choose to buy your tickets and select your preferred category (singles, doubles, relay), class (open, pro), and gender (male, female).
3. Once you've selected the options, the system will reserve a ticket for you, and you'll have 15 minutes to complete your payment and fill in your personal details.
4. When the registration is successful, you will receive a confirmation email detailing the event information and ticket ID.
5. After confirmation, you will be directed to personalize your ticket (download). Make sure to personalize your tickets at least two weeks before the event so that you can be assigned your race starting time and download your QR code during the on-site check-in.
🏁 What to Expect on Race Day
So, you've completed and confirmed your registration, here's what to expect on that actual day itself. It's best to arrive earlier to check in.
➡️ Event Day Schedule
Bring your ID, and arrive 90 minutes before the first wave of the race to register on-site, drop off bags, and start warming up. Upon checking in, registered athletes will get the following:
Wristband
- Gain access to the venue
- For judges to assign the right weights during the race
Ankle strap & timing chip
- Must be worn throughout the race to record your time
- Must be returned after the race
Race number
- Indicates your start time and position in the wave
- If the start time is 8 am, please be at the tunnel by 7.50 am
Once participants arrive at the Start Area, they will be assigned by the volunteers to the starting line, where a signal will be given to begin the race. Technical briefings will also be given.
Important note: The race will be done in waves of participants, where there are 50 participants per singles wave and 40 teams per doubles wave. There will be increments of 10 minutes to 20 minutes between each wave.
The moment participants cross the starting line, that's where the timing chip will start recording the race time as the participants begin running and transition between all the stations until they reach the finishing line.

Finally, we cannot miss out on the supportive HYROX community and vibrant atmosphere throughout the events, regardless of the locations. The fact that it has 14 divisions across different age groups proves that it is an inclusive fitness racing that unites participants of different fitness levels.
Throughout the venue, you can expect lively DJ music and aid stations along the course to help you replenish with water or isotonic drinks to finish the race well. Another plus point is having spectators to cheer you on. Your family, gym buddies, and friends can also purchase spectator tickets from the official website to be part of the HYROX events.
If you choose to team up in doubles or relay events, you would feel more motivated to finish the course because it fosters camaraderie and also a sense of accomplishment together through this physical challenge - which could be a beautiful memory in the long run. You could also make new friends in the city or even from other countries who share a similar passion for fitness.
