About Anna

I am a Cambridge medical student who has received their BA in Engineering in summer 2022, specialised in biomedical Engineering. Hence I believe to have the competences to teach Biology and Maths, Subjects I studies in A-levels during my exchange year and achieved my Matura with a 1 each (equivalent to A* in A-levels).

Coming originally from Austria my native language is German. I have studied languages since I am 4 years old including English, Russian, French, Latin and currently Chinese. I hope this demonstrates my enthusiasm for languages and my experience with acquiring a new language.

I have tutored students for 3 years in English, Latin and Maths. This supplied me with the experience required to tailor lessons to the individual student.

About the lesson

As a native German and Russian speaker who learned English, French and Latin in school and is currently studying Chinese I am very experienced in how to acquire a new language. I have found that an immersive and interactive approach is the most efficient and entertaining method and I will implement this in my lessons.

As I am continuing my studies in Medicine after receiving my BA in Engineering at Cambridge I am very knowledgeable and enthusiastic when it comes to Biology and Maths. I hope to bring this enthusiasm into the lessons and use resources outside the curriculum to reinforce lessons and information.

Whilst I studied in Austria (Matura), I also experienced the A-level system during my exchange year in London. This allowed me to notice differences in teaching styles. I hope to surprise with fun mnemonics and engaging discussion to solidify the memory of hard facts and facilitate growing interest.

Furthermore I have taught students in Austria for 3 years in English, Latin and Maths and hence have experience as a tutor as well. This experience with students of different ages will allow me to tailor my lessons to the students' specific needs.

I intend to teach lessons between 30min and 90min, preferably online. However lessons in person in Cambridge are possible. I will give homework or daily practices if necessary to support the lessons.

My lessons are targeting students of any age and level for German, and GCSE and A-level for Biology and Maths. I am also happy to help with University applications for students interested in Medicine and Engineering.
