About Katie
I have been studying music for 15 years, playing music for 20 and listening to music for a lifetime, and now I want to pass my knowledge on to others. I can help with GCSE and A level music, as well as starting from scratch. I have previously taught young children to play piano, and taught theory to pupils waiting to sit their ABRSM theory grades. Some of my students went on to take their grade 5 theory exam.

I'm an experienced female music theory and practical piano teacher, with the ability to teach basic to intermediate theory. I have a degree in music technology and composition and ABRSM grade 8 piano. I try to give good examples of theory as I'm teaching, as well as providing worksheets to work from. I will recommend a book to purchase that we will occasionally work from and you can go away and attempt after our sessions. I always listen to my students and have a flexible approach to lessons. If there is something you would rather go over, or redo, then I'm more than happy to adapt!
