About Phoebe
I am a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and an MPhys. My passion lies in guiding students through biophysics and the physics of living systems. I help learners understand molecular motors, membrane transport, nerve impulses, and biomechanics. Lessons are designed to make complex concepts clear, practical, and engaging. I work closely with biology students, pre-med students, and anyone interested in the physical underpinnings of life. I emphasize connecting theory with real-world biological phenomena to make learning relevant and exciting. My approach combines conceptual understanding with problem-solving, encouraging curiosity and critical thinking. Students learn to analyze biological processes through the lens of physics, from cellular mechanisms to whole-organism dynamics. I focus on building confidence in applying physical principles to experiments and research questions. Together, we explore how physics explains the intricate workings of living systems. My teaching approach in Physics is gentle, reflective, and focused on practical scientific inquiry. I guide students through subjects like experimental design, data analysis, error propagation, and scientific reporting for laboratory work. I encourage students to explore ideas at their own pace, ask questions, and develop their own investigative methods. Assignments and lab exercises are tailored to strengthen understanding while fostering confidence in conducting experiments. I help students discover their unique approach to designing experiments and analyzing results.
Through observation, discussion, and guided exploration, students learn to connect principles, interpret data, and understand the importance of accuracy and reliability. I support DIY scientists and curiosity-driven learners in developing independent thinking and critical analysis. The focus is on nurturing both competence and curiosity.
