About Ella

I have over 4 years of experience teaching French and hold a Bachelor of Education in French as a Second Language. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with learners of all ages, especially complete beginners. I know how overwhelming starting a new language can feel, so I approach every lesson with patience and encouragement. My teaching style is light-hearted and filled with humour, because I believe laughter makes learning easier. I use games, skits, flashcards, and storytelling to turn grammar and vocabulary into something memorable and fun. These tools keep lessons engaging while helping students absorb key concepts naturally. I’ve seen many students transform from shy and hesitant speakers into confident communicators in everyday French. We practice real-life situations, so learners feel prepared for conversations at school, work, or travel. Each session is designed to build skills step by step without pressure. I love creating an atmosphere where mistakes are part of the journey and every success is celebrated. Learning French should feel like an adventure, not a chore. Together, we’ll discover the joy of learning French playfully and confidently.

About the lesson

My teaching approach in French is flexible, goal-driven, and designed to support learners at every stage. I focus on helping students build strong foundations while also guiding them towards deeper understanding of the language. Every session is tailored to personal and academic needs, whether for professional growth or as a hobby. I combine traditional methods with modern practices to make lessons engaging and practical. Classic French literature is introduced to improve vocabulary, cultural awareness, and critical thinking. Debate skills are developed to sharpen fluency, argumentation, and confidence in speaking. I also use news articles to connect students with real-world French and keep lessons current. Creative writing is a key part of my methodology, allowing learners to experiment with language and express themselves freely. Reading comprehension and structured exercises ensure accuracy, while conversational practice builds natural flow. Pronunciation and listening are emphasised throughout, so learners sound authentic and understand spoken French clearly. I encourage active participation, asking students to think, respond, and apply what they learn. Feedback is constructive, helping them progress steadily without fear of mistakes. My goal is to create a learning environment where passion for French grows with each lesson. Above all, I aim to help learners excel in their chosen path, whether that means mastering French for career success or enjoying it as a lifelong passion.
