About Mariangel
I am a nontraditional Latina student who came to the United States from Venezuela at nine years of age. This experience taught me the importance of mentors that provide mediation and facilitate communication between newly migrated parents juggling hard work with long hours, learning a new language, and aiming to be active participants in their children’s academics and sports.
Therefore, I am an aspiring PK-12 education champion, college professor, and writer. Recently, I started designing and making jewelry. I one day will teach Latin-American History and Intercultural Relations. I will introduce a curriculum that integrates works of art with history, how art was shaped by the times, and in turn, how the times were shaped by art.
